Coffee-Infused Upside-Down Banana Skillet Cake

Oh wow, how exciting! I’ve made it to the Community Pick level for the most recent Food52 cooking contest for Your Best Recipe Made with Coffee! This was a tricky category for me as I don’t cook a lot of desserts (as you can probably tell by the amount of recipes available in that category on my blog).

This was a great piece of news for the start of a three-day weekend for me! Yay! I’ve never made it to the finals but bragging rights at this level are still OK, right?

    Congrats again – were you a finalist in another category, I seem to recall. I get Food 52 emails and shop their store but have never entered any contestl I know a few other bloggers who have. Recently, I bought “Cooking with Coffee” as a suggestion from another blogger – she made a dessert and I used it for a savory dish. A very flexible ingredient and fun to work with. Can’t wait to check out your cake 🙂

      Yes, I have been a finalist in the appetizer category with my roasted chickpeas and in two different vegetable categories with two of my soups. (I’m a bit of a soup fanatic!) Thank you JuJu!
