Soup/Stew Recipes for the Winter!

5 Dec

I know, I know, I missed a weekend post. I went back to work full-time on Thursday after my 4-week physical therapy stint, then wanted to get Christmas up over the weekend! So my house is fully-decorated now, and got to enjoy setting it up with snow-flurries on the outside and Christmas music on my iPhone to put me in the mood.

Another thing that puts me in the winter/holiday mood is lots of big bowls of steaming, comforting soup or stew. Following is a compilation of some of those over the years. Click on the link above the photo for the recipe and a handy dandy printable PDF! Enjoy!

Thanks so much for the recap! I’ve tried a few of these with great results, Kathryn. The broccoli cheddar crab soup is the next on my list. And then the one-pot lasagna. I’m drooling 🙂

Now this is a post, Kathryn, whose time has come! WIth the season’s first real cold snap settling in, my thoughts immediately turn to soups, chilis, and stews. It’s now cold enough to use my barbecue on the back porch as an extended freezer and it already contains 2 stocks and a bean soup. Thanks to you and this post, I know there will be more additions made in the very near future. YUM!

I’m with you when it comes to soups and stews at this time of the year. Even though I live in Florida now, that kind of cooking seems to just go with all the month’s activities. You certainly provided us with a nice collection of yours.

Thank you Karen, even when I lived in Florida I also made these kind of meals in the winter.

What a delicious variety of soups – I recently made 4 different kinds to take to a sister who had serious surgery and is not able to get around. I need to come up with some “new ones” and you have done just that 🙂
