Easy Chicken Gratin and a Partial Reveal

Chicken Gratin

Chicken Gratin

As much as I love tacos, truth be told we cannot simply eat tacos every night of the week. Therefore I’m still cooking other things and taking a photo here and again. Due to the time I’m committing to my new venture now, I’m limiting my recipe photos to one or two.

I saw this lovely dish on Food52 website and knew it would be a meal I’d be making soon. It’s very simple and cooks up in one dish! My kind of dinner. If you use the amount of chicken called for the chicken can nestle furtherย into the gratin sauce, but my lonely piece wasn’t so fortunate. However, my husband was duly impressed with the curdled lemon cheese sauce (it’s supposed to be that way!) and it was truly an elegant meal. ย I served the chicken over buttered rice and peas. Delicious!

Here is a link to the recipe —> Richard Olney’s Chicken Gratin (which is printable over there if you are so inclined).

Of course, you’ll need to adapt depending on the amount of chicken you are cooking.

NOW, drumroll please…

My new food cart name is…

Austin Street Tacos

This is not the full logo, as I sent it back for some tweaking. But I couldn’t resist sharing! I also wanted to give a HUGE thank ย you to all my friends and readers for your overwhelming support for my new career. It means the world to me. xoxo

The chicken gratin sounds amazing, but I don’t think it’s on my diet. Ha ha. And I’m doing well, so no cheating! I love the name of your cart and the rustic type. Perfect for tacos and a rather nice part of Texas! When do you start up?

Thanks Diana! Just keep it in the wings for when you’re off your diet, it’s fabulous! I’m hoping to start off sometime in May. Still waiting on permits!

I can empathise on the taco sentiment – you can just about get every food group into a single meal. Your chicken gratin looks delicious – quite souffle like ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank you Mad Dog! It certainly does have a souffle look to it, but the broken sauce was nothing like it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sounds like you’re making good progress in getting your business going. Take occasional photos of what’sโ€‹ happening at Austin Street Tacos. You could share this blog with a blog about your new business. List your menu and daily it weekly specials or events. Be interesting to know what’s happening. I wish I could tell you. We are still awaiting a “letter” from the health department, and if that goes well we have another permit to file for which needed that permit first. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Ooooh!!! I am so miffed at Word Press. It unfollowed me from your emails! They’ve been doing that right and left — and repeatedly. I’ve had to refollow one blogger 3 times.
Okay I’ll stop ranting and get to what’s really important here — your gorgeous recipe! ๐Ÿ˜€ Thanks for the preview of your logo — love it! I’m still very excited for you in this new venture. Great big hug!
